Verified roles vs keyword spray: why signal beats volume

6 min read

The old playbook was simple: apply everywhere, tweak keywords, hope something sticks. ATS-optimisation turned into keyword spray. The result? Hundreds of applications, low reply rates, and a market that rewards volume over fit. Meanwhile, hiring managers are drowning in noise. The disconnect is structural: both sides are optimising for the wrong thing.

Verified roles flip the script. Instead of “has this posting been live for 90 days?” you get “has this role been confirmed by a real hiring manager? Is the company actually hiring? Is the comp and level real?” That is the standard Navigait is building towards: roles checked before candidates see them. It is in build, not live.

What you can do now: apply to fewer roles, check each one (recent posting date, a named contact on the company’s own domain, a specific description), and tailor properly. Fewer, better applications beat volume.
